It hasn't been long enough for the stings to completely heal, even with Korra's help, and there are still angry red marks on Kate's jaw and temple, but even so, she manages a laugh when Elizabeth nearly runs into her. She's not in a lot of pain anymore, really, and as usual, she's more worried about Newt than herself. "Hey," she says, lifting one hand to steady them both as Jeff realizes there's another dog here and comes forward to happily sniff at Elizabeth's dog. "I'm good, totally fine, don't even worry about it."
There had been a lot of chaos on New Year's Eve and Kate's pretty sure she missed a lot of it, but she knows what she didn't miss and that's Elizabeth's friend. She'd mentioned him before, but at the time Kate hadn't know who she was talking about. She does now. It's kind of hard to miss a guy who shoots angry birds out of his hand.
