Despite all the thoughts going on in her head, seeing Faye looking alright was a relief to Elizabeth. She hadn't been able to check up on many of her friends, though she had hoped no news was good news at the time.
"Oh, no, this is actually pretty sturdy," she said, motioning to her thermos. Oliver was already sniffing at Faye's shoes, so Elizabeth unconsciously tightened her grip on the leash. The dog knew better than to jump, but she knew it was big and some people didn't like big dogs. "How are you? Are you alright?"
It felt like the question to be asking lately. If people weren't there, they knew of people who were. The whole thing was terrible.
