Jan. 3rd, 2014 12:17 pmAll things considered, Elizabeth knew she had been lucky. With only minor cuts and scrapes from fighting off panicked runners. With how insistent she had been about helping people, he should have been a lot worse. Booker was upset at her, but he also wasn't seriously injured. She didn't regret her actions in the least, though the more she thought about it, the more she realized the general consequences of her actions.
She had no idea who had seen Booker. A part of her hoped everyone was too panicked to see what the vigor did to his arm every time he used his ability, but she knew it would be hard to miss had they been paying any attention. All she could think to do was to continue on normally, and hope for the best. The morning was cool and cloudy, with some flurries falling here and there. She had work later on that day, but for now, she was out taking a walk with Oliver, the pit bull trotting alongside her obediently as she sipped her morning tea from the thermos she'd bought herself recently. As she rounded the corner, she nearly bumped into someone coming the opposite way.
"Oh, sorry! Are you okay?" The apology was almost reflexive, said before she even realized she recognized who it was she had just bumped into.

Date: 2014-01-03 09:29 pm (UTC)There had been a lot of chaos on New Year's Eve and Kate's pretty sure she missed a lot of it, but she knows what she didn't miss and that's Elizabeth's friend. She'd mentioned him before, but at the time Kate hadn't know who she was talking about. She does now. It's kind of hard to miss a guy who shoots angry birds out of his hand.

Date: 2014-01-07 08:49 am (UTC)In any case, he's not at the top of his game and had been given a couple days off from the lab to make sure he recovers but he can't really bring himself to just stick around the apartment. He's had a lot on his mind, the least of which isn't all he'd seen that night--from a bona fide witch from a book series he'd grown up with to Elizabeth's friend, y'know, shooting crows out of his hands. So in a lot of ways, he's kind of really pleased when he realizes it's Elizabeth who bumps into him, even though it sends a painful stinging sensation through all the blisters down his back. He bites back a hiss and instead forces a smile that eventually becomes genuine because in spite of everything, he's glad to see her post-beepocalypse.
"Peachy," he replies, smiling down at the pit at her feet. He figures it's probably best not to jump right into the whole so-you've-got-a-friend-who-can-magic-crows thing but he's not busy today. He can be patient for like, a few minutes. "So you've got a friend who can magic crows, huh?" Okay, maybe the patience thing isn't really something he's mastered quite yet.
